Step
2 - Creating a
Hoplink
After you’ve signed
up as a Clickbank affiliate and you've got your affiliate nickname, you're now ready to start promoting and
marketing the eBook.
The process of marketing ‘Marathon Training For Beginners’ is easy.
Don't worry you'll see some ideas and suggestions to the left
of this page.
All you need to do
is place your special referral links on your own web pages, in e-zine articles or in any articles that you
write and then when your readers click on the link, they will be automatically sent to the
MarathonTrainingExpert.com website.
These special
referral links are called “Clickbank hoplinks” and it's by using these ‘hoplinks' that Clickbank is able to
keep track of the traffic you send to our site.
The links register
you as the referrer of the visitor to our website. If that visitor
buys a product, you then receive your 60% commission.
This is why it's so important to create your hoplinks correctly.
If you use the
wrong hoplink, you won't get the credit for the sales that you generate and all your efforts will be in
vain.
But don't worry,
it's actually very easy to create a hoplink. Simply follow these easy steps:
1) This is an example of a typical Clickbank hoplink:-
http://xxxxxxx.vendor.hop.clickbank.net
xxxxxxx = your
affiliate nickname
vendor = product ID
(my product ID)
newimage66 is my vendor name (our product ID), so if I insert that in to the example above it would then become:
-
http://xxxxxxx.newimage66.hop.clickbank.net
2) So now, all that’s needed for a complete hoplink is to add YOUR Clickbank affiliate nickname.
Let’s say for
example that YOUR affiliate nickname is ‘johnnywhite’, you would need to insert this affiliate nickname in to the
place where xxxxxxx is located.
If we insert the affiliate nickname - johnnywhite in to the example above, then the hoplink would look like
this:
http://johnnywhite.newimage66.hop.clickbank.net
That's all there is to it, nothing more.
When you add this
code to your pages and someone clicks on YOUR hoplink, they will be redirected to
www.marathontrainingexpert.com and a small tracking file known as a “cookie” is left on
their computer.
This
"cookie" records that visitor as having come from your link and if he or she buys the program, you’ll be
credited for the sale and receive your commission.
Note about Clickbank cookies:
Clickbank use 60
day cookies (tracking files that are dropped onto the visitor’s computer), so if the people you send to
Marathontrainingexpert.com purchase the product that day or if they return to the site and buy any time within the
next 60 days, you’ll get the commission for that sale (currently 60% commission rate of net sale)
